Monkey Climbing in a Tree
This children's book style illustration of a purple monkey climbing and swinging in a tree is one that I did very recently. I produced this illustration by
scanning in a sketch from my sketchbook and then working on it in Photoshop. I Took the white background away with the background eraser tool and
then filled in the spaces with vector graphics shapes.
This produced a very colourful illustration, such as can only really be produced with the computer but at the same time keeping that raw sketched feel of
the original illustration.
This children's book illustrated character has a very definite character of his own. He is very relaxed and obviously doesn't spend a lot a time worrying
about things.
The purple colour of the monkey in the illustration helps to give him his character and certainly adds a lot of interest to the image. He is hanging on to a
branch in the bottom left of the illustration with his tail and this gives the picture a lot of movement.
