Animation
The dividing wall between animation and illustration is becoming lower all the time, and here at Starbright we are feeling increasingly tempted to
make our pictures move. If the illustration has been created in a 3D package like Blender then there is really no reason why it can't easily be made
into a moving image and saved as an mp4.
Even sketches and paintings can be scanned in, digitised and turned into an animation. Here at Starbright we have been interested in animation
from a very young age and have experimented with flip books, stop-go animation and Photoshop. We are just now beginning to take our first
faltering steps into the world of 3D animation, and although we are a long way from being able to challenge Pixar, we do have some results to show
for our efforts, and to add to the 2D animations we have already produced.
Some of our favourite animations from the Starbright studios are listed below, or you can check the blog to see how the latest animation is going.
A cute 2D animation
There is only one 2D animation so far, it's page is
here, but you can also watch it in the widget to the
right.
There should be more animation coming in the
near future, but my next planned animations are all
in 3D. I have managed to make Blender spit out an
animation and have also managed to attach a
soundtrack to it there so there will be many
animations to come on this page.
I'm working on them as you read these words.
The Adventures of Dark Cat #1 Meow
This is my first completed 3D Blender animation
and it was a real learning curve. I am very pleased
with the final results and for a silly, funny little
animation with a cute character in it's not bad at all.
It makes me laugh every time.
And this lovely unassuming little animation loads
quickly and didn't take long to render at all. It was a
pleasure to work on it.
This 3D animation has its own page here.
